Portuguese is very similar to Spanish, in which I'd say I'm about "intermediate." Out of curiosity I just google'd it, and found this, which might be somewhat helpful.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant naming as in things, not people. I had found that link earlier. I'm creating a fictional country for a story, and I've used to Babelfish to come up with various names of different locations. I don't know why I worry about things like this - how many people would know if it's all screwed up?

Ah OK. I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by naming conventions. :)
