Okay, in this sentence:

And when she showed up late to meals or dirty to tea, her family would resort to gently berating her on how “she never had a second chance to make a first impression.”

 
does the "she" in "she never had..." need to be capitalized? I'm thinking it does. 

Actually, I think it should be more like And when she showed up late to meals or dirty to tea, her family would resort to gently berating her on how she "never had a second chance to make a first impression.” No capitalization. But I could be wrong.

Yeah, English is SUCH a pain sometimes!

God forbid I just rewrite the sentence.

Two to nothing in favor of "never", so that's good enough for me!
